FIT
The Kaizen Vest, inspired by the Japanese philosophy of ‘continuous improvement,’ reflects Wave Texture’s dedication to thoughtfully enhancing timeless silhouettes with innovative details.
Designed to enhance the functionality of the Pierre Raincoat, the Kaizen Vest evolved from its origins as a complementary layer to become a fully realised standalone garment after three meticulous prototypes.
Drawing inspiration from Japanese military quilt liners, the vest features a padded textile that merges tactical utility with contemporary design. Its structured silhouette and thoughtful details, such as side strap adjustments and a cartridge holder, echo the rugged charm of military gear while maintaining a refined, modern aesthetic.
Practical with two spacious front pockets and a large hunting pocket on the back. Perfect for carrying essentials like a book, any gear, or water bottle, these riveted pockets ensure durability and convenience for everyday adventures. The cartridge holder, while true to its military roots, can also accommodate modern necessities—pens, sunglasses, or even a Carambar for a touch of humour.
Featuring a 4-point fastening system, the Kaizen Vest is designed to seamlessly integrate with the Pierre Raincoat, completing the ensemble and extending the Pierre’s versatility across seasons.
Crafted with precision, the quilted fabric of the Kaizen Vest is a standout feature. The outer layer, made from water-resistant polyester ripstop sourced from a Louis Vuitton deadstock, offers technical performance and sustainability. Inside, the 100% cotton ripstop lining ensures breathability and comfort, the contrast being particularly noticeable when you slide your hands into the pockets.

In Hindi, the native language of Northern India, the noun "Sair" means a leisurely walk.Staying true to the Wave Texture vision, we present our take on a vintage Hawaiian shirt, reimagined as an elegant Riviera essential. The silhouette has been reworked with wider sleeves to mimic the feel of a t-shirt, yet maintaining formality on hot summer days without compromising comfort.Crafted from 100% mid-weight Japanese seersucker cotton for optimal airflow, this shirt offers a retro-inspired, seamless facing embellished with mother of pearl buttons. Our minimalist approach to this timeless fabric is evident in our choice of a pure monotonal colour, free from the usual stripes. This is further enhanced by the inverted back pleat, creating a smooth, elegant wave and drape. The shirt’s side slits provide easy access to your waist pockets while enhancing airflow with their casual flare. The hems have a slight curve, completing the piece with a perfectly clean and sophisticated style. The cuban collar is tailored to achieve a look that balances heritage with a sleek modern touch.

In this couture version, we have collaborated with Vastrakala, the Indian division from the House of Lesage to create our interpretation of an ancient hand-embroidered ladder stitching technique on the collar and pockets. Through an 11 to 26-hour process - depending on the amount of embroidery - fibres from the fabric are picked out one by one, allowing a ribbon to be woven through the negative space. Finally, the artisan completes this timeless design with a chain stitch, creating a unique blend of heritage and contemporary elegance.

Maison Lesage Prototype - 2 units
The result of a collaboration with the renowned Maison Lesage — the legendary embroidery house behind creations for Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Givenchy, and now part of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art. This prototype edition of the Sair Shirt was never put into full production, with only two units ever created. It features ladder-stitch embroidery on the collar and pockets, handcrafted by an artisan to create negative space into which a ribbon is meticulously woven — forming a singular, textural signature.

MINIMAL DETAILS
Positioned just above the back pleat, a subtle hand-embroidered half-star sits atop the shirt’s empiècement dos. This 8-point motif — now echoed on the buttons of our latest pieces — is a discreet emblem of Wave Texture. Evocative of a sunrise or sunset, it adds a quiet sense of identity to the garment’s clean silhouette.

Summertime Ease
Light on the body and fluid in motion, the Sair Shirt is designed for warm-weather versatility. An inverted back pleat gives the shirt a soft, sculptural drape, while side slits allow for effortless pocket access and added ventilation. Gently curved hems refine the silhouette — relaxed yet sharply finished.

Mid-Weight Japanese Seersucker
Originally developed for hot and humid climates, seersucker has long been a summer staple. This Japanese-woven version reimagines the classic with a unique monotone colorway, trading the traditional stripe for a more minimal, zen-inspired aesthetic. Lightweight, breathable, and softly textured, it offers effortless elegance in warm weather.
